Yes, Freighter is completely free to download and use. You only pay standard Stellar network fees for transactions, which are typically less than a penny.
When you create a wallet, Freighter provides you with a 12 or 24-word secret recovery phrase. Write this down and store it in a secure location offline. This phrase is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access to your browser.
Currently, Freighter is available as a browser extension for desktop browsers. Mobile support is on our roadmap and will be available in future releases.
Freighter is available for Chrome, Brave, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers. Firefox support is coming soon.
Absolutely. Freighter does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your private keys are encrypted locally on your device and never leave your browser.
